I got an email late last night/early this morning to join the "Amazon Research Panel." Looked like a totally legit email and as I'm a good customer, I clicked on the link. Fool! Checked it out this morning and wrote to Amazon about it and it's apparently a phishing email of some kind.

Amazon ships from all over Europe anyway according to what is most optimal for them, so why would you pay more for the exact same thing? For example in February I wanted to buy a few German books. I checked hagglezon.com and to my surprise Amazon.com.be had them at a lower price than Amazon.de (they still do)!

Based on Amazon's values, I doubt anyone can see more than the shipping label attached to the box and the contents of what you ordered while packing your items.

I've bought probably a hundred books used, never had a problem. Sometimes the pages will be more yellow or marked in, or the spine bent, but I sure don't mind! The market for new physical books is lagging, so someone being in possession of a used book will not find too many willing to pay that much for it. Hence the low prices.

Amazon delivers stuff in a few days, 90% within a week. eBay, on the other hand, can take 3+ months to deliver, and the delivery companies sucks a lot, as they never truly attempt to deliver the package and make me go pick it up some far place that work on really bad hours, usually crowded with people.

Amazon doesn't charge anything if it's defective or arrives damaged. I do agree with just going to best buy though, I'd rather pick it up and drive it home myself, especially since amazon charges tax now.. best buy's price on TV's is usually the same as amazon anyway.
